The Dean of Graduate Studies Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Eddy Yusuf visited State Polytechnic of Jember on Friday (6/10) to discuss the possibilities to have bilateral collaboration with the State Polytechnic of Jember by providing Student Exchange and Double Degree program.

According to the Professor, the latest achievement of State Polytechnic of Jember as the top 10 state polytechnic in Indonesia (first cluster of state polytechnic) and the widely-spread network to Asian Higher Education Institutions take the attention of School of Graduate Studies Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia to have collaboration with the State Polytechnic of Jember who set to be Asia’s Leading State Polytechnic in 2025.

“We received information that State Polytechnic of Jember is in the first cluster of national vocational higher education institution and activlely spread the international network”, saidthe professor as well as The Director of International Center for Halal Studies said.

MSU offers advanced study program known as Double Degree Magister Fast Track. The program, which is also known as 311, enables the graduate of State Polytechnic of Jember to continue the study in MSU to earn bachelor degree for a year. The, the graduates are able to study master directly for the next year.

According to the chair of Collaboration Affairs, Dr. Ir. Nantil Bambang EKo S, M.Si. State Polytechnic of Jember highly appreciate the offers and the chances given to the graduates through the collaboration. He, further, said that the collaboration is in line with the Vision of State Polytechnic of Jember which is as Asia’s Leading State Polytechnic in 2025.
“The collaborationi with MSU, Malaysia is another international-networking achievement. Previously, State Polytechnic of Jember successfully spread the network to the Asia higher education institution, such as in, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam and China”, Said Dr. Ir. Nantil Bambang EKo S, M.Si.

The Chair of International affairs explained that MSU, Malaysia is a leading university in Malaysia which focuses on the applied technology. Further, he said that the programs offered by MSU, Malaysia match to the program that State Polytechnic of Jember have.

“We really appreciate and will proceed the collaboration by signing the Memorandum of Understanding that will be conducted in Malaysia”, explained Nantil BES.

Based on the agreement double degree fast track program is prioritized for Health Department, Information Technology Department, and Language, Communication and Tourism.

“In December 2017, State Polytechnic of Jember is going to sign the Memorandum of Understanding in MSU, Malaysia”, Nantil BES said.
In addition to that, the MSU, Malaysia provides program for student exchange by applying credit transfer system as well as professor and lecturer exchange. The chances of the 311 program is also eligible for the graduate of diploma 4 – the students will spend one year in MSU, Malaysia to earn the bachelor degree and directly continue the study to earn master a year after completing the bachelor program.
