On Wednesday - Friday (15-17 November), The Director of State Polytechnic of Jember, Dr. Ir. Nanang Dwi Wahyono, .M.M, and a delegation including the vice director of the academic affairs, Ir. Abi Bakri, M.Si, the head of Information Technology Department, Wahyu Kurnia Dewanto S.Kom MT and the Coordinator of collaboration affair, Agung Wahyono SP, MSi, Ph.D. made official visit to the Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia. This agenda was to follow up the visit of Prof. Dr. Eddy Yusuf, The Dean School of Graduate Studies, Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia.

After an Official Welcoming Ceremony conducted by President MSU, Prof Tan Sri Dato Wira DR Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid accompanied by Dean Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) Prof DR Adam Amril Jaharadak, Head of International Office Prof Eddy Yusuf, Ph.D., the Director of State Polytechnic of Jember signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia.

According to the Director of State Polytechnic of Jember, Dr. Ir. Nanang Dwi Wahyono, M.M, Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia offers advanced study program known as double degree Magister Fast Track. The scheme for the double degree Magister Fast Track program is 311. “MSU, Malaysia is enthusiastic to have collaboration with the State Polytechnic of Jember by providing advanced study program known as Double Degree magister fast track.  The scheme for the double degree program is 311”, Nanang Dwi Wahyono said.

This double degree Magister Fast Track program is available for the students of Health Department, Information Technology Department, and Language, Communication and Tourism Department. Moreover, this double degree program is not only for the students of Diploma 3 program but also for Diploma 4 program of State Polytechnic of Jember who wish to obtain two degrees (Bachelor and Magister). After completing Diploma 3 program, students can earn bachelor degree for a year and directly continue to obtain magister degree a year after completing bachelor program in Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia. Further, Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia also provides program for student exchange by applying credit transfer system as well as professor and lecturer exchange.

On the same occasion, according to the vice director of the academic affairs, Ir. Abi Bakri, M.Si., the opening of international collaboration between State Polytechnic of Jember and MSU Malaysia is a step to achieve the vision of State Polytechnic of Jember as a leading vocational higher education institution in 2025. Furthermore, Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between State Polytechnic of Jember and Management and Science University (MSU), Malaysia in providing double degree program is another mutualism collaboration with several prestigious higher education institutions in Asia.

 

“Previously, State Polytechnic of Jember successfully established such collaboration with several higher education institutions in Thailand, Korea, Vietnam dan Tiongkok”, said Abi Bakri.

 

MSU Malaysia is a prestigious university in Malaysia focuses on applied technology. Memorandum of understanding signing ceremony between State Polytechnic of Jember and MSU, Malaysia is strategic achievement because State Polytechnic of Jember as the top state polytechnic in Indonesia (first cluster of state polytechnic)
